Tip #6: Check Your EQ

CHECK YOUR EQ
Learn to respond, not react. Negative emotions and behaviors are often a reaction to an interpretation you’ve made about a situation, causing you to feel defensive. Dispute any distortions in your thinking. Try putting yourself in the other person’s position for a fresh perspective. The positive consequence of learning to step back is that you’ll feel more in control of yourself while coming across centered, trustworthy, and strong.
